# Buoy

The Scout buoy body is made from syntactic foam with an outer shell of urethane rubber. The rubber shell provides UV protection and protection from scuffing or denting if the unit is dropped, but does not add any structural integrity to the buoy. The buoy and telemetry beacon are rated to a 1,000 ft depth.
