Components of the Scout Buoy

The Scout buoy body is made from 18lb syntatic foam with an outer shell of urethane rubber. The rubber shell provides UV protection and protection from scuffing or denting if the unit is dropped, but does not add any structural integrity to the buoy. The buoy and telemetry unit are rated to 1,000 ft depth and have been tested in the field. The telemetry device is contains all the electronics required to capture locations with GPS and communicate those locations to the mobile app / website and handset over the Iridium network. The telemetry device was designed to be easily removed for service and charging.
